KYM was incorporated as Polypulp Paper Industries Sdn Bhd in Malaysia on 30 April 1982 under the Companies Act, 1965. It was converted to a public limited company, Polypulp Paper Industries Berhad, on 25 February 1991 and changed its name to its current form on 10 April 1996.

KYM was listed on the Second Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Bursa Securities") on 16 December 1991. The listing was transferred to the Main Board of the Bursa Securities on 8 August 1995.

Our core business is in the designing, manufacturing and marketing of paper and polypropylene-based packaging products. Our products include corrugated fibre boards, carton boxes, industrial paper bags and woven polypropylene bags.

The acquisition of Tegas Consolidated back in 1996 has allowed KYM to venture into the development of resort and leisure facilities covering 1,200 acres of coastal land at Teluk Rubiah, Perak.
